VOCATIONAL SKILL TRAININGS

MDTC provides vocational skills training to rural men, women and youth in participation in skills development for self-reliance. Vocational skills training programme include: building, carpentry, dressmaking, metal work, leather tanning, tie and dye and machine maintenance.A total of 14378 (7004 males and 7374 females) were trained in building, carpentry, tie and die, dressmaking, metal work, computers, business management, leather tanning, trade test and National Foundation Certificate. This has left the community of Mwenezi and neighbouring districts with skilled artisans who are competing at job markets in and outside Zimbabwe. The organisation has managed to register itself with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education and Department of Industrial Training. This has brought the organisation on the map resulting in MDTC being registered as HEXCO examination centre. The establishment of Commercial Oriented Production Training was a transformational approach which exposed trainees to high learning facility with orientation to intensified production preparing them to reach viable markets. MDTC has created a traceable record in skills development and this has taken the organisation to provincial and national levels with its trainees attached at Great Zimbabwe University in Masvingo.
